  4. Focusing the Mires

  6. Usually the mires are not in sharp focus 
  7. when you first locate them.  They are 
  8. focused by moving the body of the 
  9. instrument forward or backward using 
  10. the highest knob directly in front of the 
  11. examiner.  The center ring will appear 
  12. double when it is out-of-focus.
  13.  
  14. If the end of the focusing range is 
  15. reached and the 
  16. mires are still not 
  17. in focus, the position 
  18. of the patientΓÇÖs head 
  19. must be changed 
  20. (see next screen).
